Mentor Recruitment Party @ Airbnb
Tuesday, October 16, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM (PDT)
San Francisco, CA
~ Technovation Mentor Recruitment Party ~
Bring a friend and join us at Airbnb HQ for wine, cheese, networking, and info about becoming a Technovation mentor!
Would you like to mentor a team of high school girls to be future technology leaders? Come and learn about how you can become a Technovation mentor and help a team of girls as they design a mobile app for a global competition.
Technovation is run by Iridescent, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, and has served over 800 girls in the past three years. As we expand globally, we need more mentors than ever to support teams of girls as they learn to innovate and design creative mobile apps. Through the twelve week program, students learn about programming, user interface design, market research, and entrepreneurship as they compete to get their app funded and taken to market. This year's challenge is for students to design an app which solves a problem in their local community.
Who is eligible to be a Technovation mentor? All professional women who work in the technology industry (either in business or programming) are qualified. We have school sites all over the Bay Area - not just San Francisco - so please do attend if you are located in the Bay Area and would like to know more. Read more about the program here: www.technovationchallenge.org
Join us next Tuesday for wine, cheese, networking, and a chance to learn about how you can sign up to be a mentor! Don't miss a great keynote speech from Jessica Semaan, Operations Manager at Airbnb.
See you there,
Technovation Challenge Team

When & Where
Technovation is a program of Iridescent, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Technovation's mission is to give girls the skills and confidence they need to be successful in computer science and entrepreneurship. We aim to inspire girls to see themselves not just as users of technology, but as inventors, designers, builders and entpreneurs. Each spring we host a 12-week challenge where students work in teams to design the most innovative mobile app. Learn more at www.technovationchallenge.org.
